2010 DELLA STRADA AWARD CELEBRATION - IGNATIAN VOLUNTEER CORPS LOS ANGELES

Sunday, October 10, 2010, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA.

The Los Angeles Regional Council of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps cordially invites you to the 2010 Della Strada Award Celebration honoring Bishop Joseph M. Sartoris, D.D., Auxilary Bishop of Los Angeles San Pedro Pastoral Region, retired, on Sunday, October 10, 2010, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA.

The Madonna Della Strada Award is named after the Sancta Maria della Strada, the first church that Ignatius and the early Jesuits obtained to serve the uban poor in the center of Rome. The award honors lives that reflect the Ignatian values of direct service to the poor, and working and educating for a more just society

10-day pilgrimage to Spain and France. Itinerary includes the birthplaces of St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Bernadette Soubirous; Lourdes shrine and sanctuary of healing; Shrine of the Black Madonna and Benedictine Monastery at Montserrat; holy cave at Manresa where Ignatius composed the Spiritual Exercises; Sagrada Familia Church, Gaudí’s masterpiece in Barcelona.

8-Day Guided Directed Retreat: The Hospitality of God: Now is the Time
Type:
Silent Retreat for Men and Women
Description: Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, this retreat provides time for spiritual reflection, solitude and prayer, inviting retreatants to be attentive to the inner movements of the Holy Spirit. Prayer will focus on Scripture and personal life experience. The schedule includes a Scripture-based conference each morning, individual direction each day, daily celebration of the Eucharist, and a mid-week Reconciliation service.
